If you want to break the tie between black and blue, it probably just comes down to specific commanders as well as local playgroup metas. You get much better board interaction and removal in Golgari, as well as powerful graveyard synergies, but Simic has the added benefit of countermagic and exceedingly efficient card draw. I think it's hard to say which is genuinely better between Simic and Golgari though. The strategies they enable and support are just simply weaker overall in a multiplayer high-life-total format. ![]() ![]() Green has just been SO well supported lately, not to mention the fact that land-based ramp is a massive advantage in EDH, that any color pair without green is going to suffer dramatically by comparison.Īs for the second color, red and white are historically just less good in EDH.
